The folks at the Houston SPCA want to remind you not to forget about your pets during this storm season. Here’s a list of things to do to keep them safe and ready.
- ID Your Pet – Make sure that your pet is wearing a collar with proper identification on it. Make sure that your cell phone number is on your pet’s tag. Also, having your pet micro-chipped is a good idea in case your pet gets lost.
- Vaccines And Medications – Put any medications that you pet may need in a sealed plastic bag along with a copy of their vaccination records.
- Yard Check – Animals often get frightened in severe weather. Make sure that any any holes in your fence are taken care of and that there isn’t a way for your pet to escape your yard.
- Plan Ahead – Find local, shelter, kennels, hotels, and friends and family that could possibly take your pet in if necessary.
