The folks at Blue Bell made a HUGE announcement Wednesday regarding the return of our favorite tasty frozen treat.
In the next few weeks, Blue Bell will start a test production of ice cream at it’s Sylacauga Alabama plant. As exciting as this news is, don’t expect to see your grocery store packed with your favorite flavor just yet.
In a statement released by Blue Bell they said, “When production resumes at the Sylacauga plant, it will be on a limited basis as the company seeks to confirm that new procedures, facility enhancements and employee training have been effective. Ice cream produced will be closely monitored and tested. Upon completion of this trial period, Blue Bell will begin building inventory to return to the market.”
In April, the company stopped production after several people died and others were hospitalized from hitting listeria contaminated Blue Bell ice cream.
Hopefully all the improvements and changes the company has made will work. According to experts, listeria is tricky. Not only can it live in cold environments, but it call also live for years in places.
