I got a few nasty comments from some ladies that were so offended by something they thought I said on the air about Miranda Lambert looking like Honey Boo Boo. Since I’m a sensitive person, I let these comments bother me more than I should. However, I decided to defend myself and set the record straight since they clearly didn’t understand the joke.
Here’s where it started. I made a comment that Miranda Lambert is looking more like Honey Boo Boo everyday. Now if you don’t keep up with Miranda and what she tweets to her fans then you could twist that comment whatever way you want and frankly some did.
One lady said, “That was RUDE! HOW DARE MIRANDA GAIN A FEW POUNDS??? WTH”
Umm…For heaven’s sake! Not once did I talk about Miranda’s weight! If anything, good for Miranda rocking it and showing ladies that you CAN be happy and successful without being a twig.
Another woman said, “Did Erin Austin just say what I think she said????? She said that Miranda Lambert is looking more and more like Honey Boo-Boo???? Seriously????? Miranda Lambert is BEAUTIFUL!!!!”
Miranda is beautiful! I never said she wasn’t! Clearly this woman wasn’t listening on the day I said Miranda was one of People Magazines “Most Beautiful People.”
So if you’re like these ladies and don’t know where the joke lies then let me shed some light.
* Miranda dressed as Honey Boo Boo for Halloween this year
* Just a few weeks ago Miranda posted a collage of photos of herself next to a photo of Honey Boo Boo saying she was actually Honey Boo Boo’s mom! Clearly it was a joke, but the point is, Miranda even acknowledges the resemblance. And frankly has a sense of humor about it.

I’m not picking on these ladies, but I do feel the need to defend myself when people threaten me and don’t know all the facts. I even tweeted Miranda hoping she would help a sister out!

I should be used to people hearing what they want to hear and twisting what is said or what is not said. I should also have a tougher skin by now and realize you’re not gonna make everyone happy even if you try.
Hopefully I can get a tweet back from Miranda to help me out. (fingers crossed)
