The tragic events that ended up with a family being brutally murdered have left our community in a state of shock, disbelief and anger. More details about the family and events surrounding this terrible event are being made known.

According to authorities and media sources here’s part of the timeline from yesterday.
Yesterday afternoon Ron Lee Haskell, 33, came to the home of Stephen Stay, 39, and Katie Stay, 33. At the time Cassidy Stay, 15, was home alone when Ron (her uncle) came to the house. She told him that her parents weren’t home and he left only to come back a short while later and kicking in the door.
He then tied Cassidy up and waited for the rest of the family to come home. When they arrived, Haskell tied up the family making them lie face down. He asked them where is estranged wife was and when they said they didn’t know he shot all of them in the back of the head.
Mother, father and 3 children died at the scene. Miraculously, Cassidy was still alive and was able to call 911 to let authorities know who had done this. She played dead until Haskell left. She told police that Haskell was on his way to kill her grandparents.
Cassidy along with a 4 year-old boy were life flighted. The boy later died at the hospital. She remains VERY critical condition.
After doing my own digging on Facebook I found a post where Stephen announced that he was happy about starting his own real estate company earlier this year.
I also found a picture of the family. A portrait of a beautiful family. A loving husband and his wife with 5 full of life children.
