Dear Diary,
I was overwhelmed with all of the amazing Facebook posts wishing me a happy birthday. It was so nice and I thought it was so cool to hear from everyone. I did think it was odd to hear from people that I haven’t talked to in so long. I thought some of them didn’t like me. Perhaps, Facebook is the new way to forget the past?
I also think Facebook has kind of sucked the fun out of sending birthday cards or phone calls. Don’t get me wrong, without Facebook most people wouldn’t even know it was your birthday. And I certainly don’t expect a card from someone I don’t know that well. But, I guess I am old-fashioned…I like a phone call…actual human contact. I literally got all of my birthday messages from text, email or Facebook. The only phone calls I got were from my dad and my mother-in-law.
I know this is the way of the future and I just sound old. But I kind of miss how it was before Facebook.
It truly was a nice day. Greg got me flowers, Dave made homemade queso and Bobbie brought me balloons and candy. Erin and I hit up happy hour and when I got home Jeff whipped up the most delicious batch of Hamburger Helper ever. I don’t want to sound thankless, it’s more of an observation.
Talk to you tomorrow,
